I was really lost... There were virtually no in-game directions or objectives; it would have been much more practical to integrate the instructions into the game, rather than requiring players to view a separate page. The graphics also need work and you should consider adding some music or sound effects to make it less monotonous.

Bcadren responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take it as advice for my next Ludum Dare; I do now realize that play-ability needs to come before technical features and the like and a few working features is better than a lot with several glitches. But, this was a 48-hour competition entry and I'm not editing THIS SUBMISSION of it. I will; however, release a post-compo version (no estimates on release date, yet); which addresses the concerns of the you, myself and the many others that have commented; as well as adding more content. Again thanks; I don't take any offense to an honest low rating.

A good-quality puzzle game; the soundtrack fits nicely with the playful clown theme. My only suggestion is that you make it more clear where pieces belong by making theme less identical.

Thanks for your feedback bluemustard2!

The game is fun to pass the time, but the graphics are too simplistic, the soundtrack too repetitive. This is an interesting idea but you need to work on it more.

Nicely done; love how so many famous NG characters are incorporated into the game (I think you should include Dad, though). Very fun to play!

Ingenious.

A nice game, but it needs a bit of work.

A good idea and a fun game.

Call me cruel but I thought it was hilarious.

JonBro responds:

I must be even more cruel, because that was the intention. I'm glad you found it enjoyable!

MY EYES!!! Ok, first of all, you went overkill on the gold and it lost effect. The characters (and the book icon) look so basic it looks as though they were drawn in a couple of minutes. The music is boring as well, mostly because of how often it repeats. Also, there is just random text to the side during the levels, and the levels aren't even levels because you can't move. Is this even a game? Perhaps you could consider turning this concept into a picture and submitting it to the art forum, or a short story that you could post on the Writing Forum, because this does not class as a game. I think you should really revise (or possibly redo) this thoroughly, and when you do, please dedicate more time because you have interesting ideas, but this does not represent them whatsoever.

In the description it says that this is a work in progress, and I take that into account when I write this review. First off, the game is pretty silent most of the way through, so I recommend adding an ambient soundtrack, one that really brings out the creepy feeling received when playing. The POV needs work; at points I had no idea where I was going, so perhaps add more light so the player isn't quickly disoriented. Also, maybe give the player some idea of their objective, their goal, so it isn't blind wandering. One final thing (this is pretty small), the sound for the footsteps can get really annoying, so I think you should alter it to make it sound more realistic (you could add the crunching of leaves crushed underfoot, for example). Other than that, it's not too bad and I hope to see what you'll accomplish with the full game.

Pixel art ftw. I just love all the creativity here on Newgrounds and I love being able to contribute to it!
